We have been notified of three positive COVID – 19 cases involving students who are considered off-site contacts by the county health department. No in-school contact tracing is needed.
The cases involve middle and high school students. We will continue to collaborate with our county health department on all cases of COVID – 19. Please continue to wear face coverings and practice social distancing.

WACS - Ski Club for January 12th
Due to staffing and quarantining issues, we are unable to provide transportation for our students for Ski Club next Tuesday - January 12th.

From Mr. Markham - MS & HS Principal
As stated in Mr. Cipolla’s phone message, we are moving to 100% Remote instruction for the week of January 11-15. Similar to Thursday and Friday, our MS & HS students will continue to follow their normal bell schedule to participate in their classes while we are remote.
For our students attending Maple Avenue, PTech, Hewes, Randolph & Chautauqua Lake BOCES programs, the district will provide transportation to these programs following their usual daily instructional schedule
Our students participating in the LoGuidice CTE will attend their programs too. We will be contacting these students’ families directly about their transportation arrangements.

MEALS: While the District is under a remote learning model, we will continue to provide meals for children 18 and under. Pick-up for these meals will be on Monday, January 11th, from 11am-1pm at the cafeteria window. Monday's pick-up will have breakfasts and lunches for the entire week, please plan accordingly. Hello Westfield Students,
Westfield Academy and Central Schools is upgrading our internet circuit. Please note from 6-7pm tonight, we will have no internet access. Zoom Difficulties - January 7th
We have been notified that across the region, individuals are experiencing intermittent interruptions with Zoom. Please be patience with Zoom as they work to resolve these issues. - Tech Department & Mr. Markham

We were notified of two new cases of COVID – 19.
An elementary student has tested positive for COVID – 19. The student is considered an off-site contact by the department of health and contact tracing is not necessary in school.
A secondary employee has tested positive for COVID – 19. The individual was last present in school on January 5th. All close contacts will be notified.
We continue to work in collaboration with our county health department. We will keep you informed as these situations arise.

Important Information from Mr. Markham - MS & HS Principal
As noted, we are moving to 100% Remote instruction for the rest of the school week (January 6th-8th). On Wednesday, we will follow our “Wednesday Office Hours”. Remember, this is a great opportunity for all our MS/HS students to connect with their teachers. For Thursday and Friday, all MS & HS Students will follow our normal bell schedule to participate in their classes remotely.
Students in the Maple Avenue, PTech, Hewes, Randolph & Chautauqua Lake BOCES programs will follow their usual daily instructional schedule with the district providing transportation to these programs.

Good afternoon families. Due to quarantine and staffing concerns, students in all grade levels, prek-12, will be remote for the remainder of this week (Jan 5-8, 2021). We will re-evaluate and update you on decisions for next week as soon possible. Thank you for your continued support.

Ski Club Cancellation - January 5th
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we determined the possibility to have students attend Ski Club tonight. However, due to staffing and quarantine issues, Ski Club is cancelled for January 5th.

Meals - January 5th
District will be providing meals today from 11:00-1:00 at the cafeteria window. No sign-up is necessary. Just come to the window for your meal.

We were notified this evening of two positive cases in our district. One case involved an off-site high school student. This situation will not require contact tracing.
The second case involves a shared employee between the elementary and secondary schools. Due to the quarantine and staffing concerns, our district must shift to remote learning for tomorrow. I will communicate an update tomorrow as it pertains to the coming days.
Your child’s principal will be following up to this message with details pertaining to remote learning.
