Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Cluster Action Initiative and the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) require schools that are in a designated yellow, orange, or red zone to test specific percentages of in-person students, teachers, and staff for COVID-19 in order to hold in-person classes. While neither Westfield nor Chautauqua County are currently considered a yellow, orange or red zone, we are taking action to prepare for these regulations should the need arise. Westfield is inviting you to an informational meeting about the guidelines and projected process for testing that would allow in-person learning to continue in the event that our area is designated a yellow zone. This will be presented via Zoom on Wednesday, December 16, at 6:30 pm. Please complete the information below. An invitation with zoom credentials will be sent to the email you share here, please verify it is entered correctly. Thank you for your continued role in keeping our school a safe place to learn. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1q2CXVCKP_x3G-lRo33UBvet0iDptft7yS-uB8e_XaOQ/edit?ts=5fd389b0

Ski Club Update With the increasing COVID – 19 cases in our county, we are going to push back the start of Ski Club until we come back from January. Then, at that time, we will reevaluate our transportation plans. However, students should see either Mr. Meegan or Mr. Pikiewicz to receive their pass prior to Winter Break.

Each year, the Recording Academy sponsors a week in January called "Grammy In-the-Schools" which offers high school students in southern California a chance to spend time with leaders in the music industry. This year, due to the pandemic, the event will be held virtually and will feature some ensembles from Westfield High School. The McClurg Street String Band is one WACS music group that recorded a video during the class "Musician's Studio" which many of the students take. They are performing an Irish tune called "The Rights of Man", which is a tribute to the book by the same name by Thomas Paine (think history class). Also featured will be a performance by the Westwinds form this year, and our handbell ensemble from 2019 (pre-covid). https://ensemble.e2ccb.org/Watch/o6LZz34G
