The substitute teacher's aide, bus driver, cleaner, bus monitor, and cafeteria positions require a civil service application to be filled out but there is no exam required. These positions require a non-teaching application as well.
ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL

Primary Function
The Elementary School Principal will provide leadership and administration that motivates instructional and support personnel. The principal will promote a positive school environment that results in high levels of student growth and development, both educationally and personally. The principal will plan all phases of instructional leadership for the school including educational programming, administration, and planning of the annual elementary school budget.
Job Description
1. Develops an overall program consistent with State Law, Commissioner's Regulations, Board Policy and Administrative Regulations.
2. Provides instructional leadership, maintains and improves the educational program and develops unique aspects of the total program.
3. Evaluates overall building curriculum considering such things as standardized teacher input test results and community reactions.
4. Encouraging and initiating continued improvement in curriculum and teaching methods in cooperation with administration, subject area specialists, and faculty.
5. Assists in the development of the annual District budge, administers the school's budgeted allocations and maintains a continuous record of school budget accounts in conjunction with the Business Office.
6. Conducts an annual inventory of supplies, books and equipment.
7. Supervises all professional, paraprofessional, and nonprofessional personnel involved in the school.
8. Observing and motivating professional staff toward performances to attain the educational goals of the District.
9. Partners with the administrative team in recruiting, screening, hiring, training, assigning, and evaluating of the school’s professional staff.
10. Supervises the maintenance of accurate records on the progress and attendance of students.
11. Acts as liaison between the school and the community and promotes a high level of communication between school and home.
12. Works cooperatively with Parent-Teacher organizations.
13. Effectively communicates the school's programs to the community.
14. Assumes responsibility for the safety and administration of the school building.
15. A member of and participates in District committees that enhance the total program of the school.
16. Conducts meetings of the staff as necessary for the proper functioning of the school.
17. Assists in the in-service orientation and training of teachers and staff.
18. Supervises the administration of State assessments and standardized tests.
19. Makes recommendations to the Superintendent on any matter which improves the excellence of the District and align with District goals.
20. Performs other functions as assigned by the Superintendent.
Requirements
Valid New York State Certificate in School Administration.
Demonstrates exemplary leadership and organizational skills and initiative. Displays integrity and strong moral character.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to professionally and effectively communicate with educators, parents, and community leader.

Westfield Central School is accepting applications for a Cleaner I and substitute cleaner in the buildings and grounds department. It is preferred but not necessary applicant have working knowledge of building cleaning methods, procedures and equipment; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; willingness to perform routine cleaning and other manual asks; applicant must be physically capable for the demands of the job. Please fill out a civil service application and a non-teaching application. NYS Education Finger Print Clearance is required.

CLEANER II
Westfield Central School is accepting applications for a substitute cleaner II in the buildings and grounds department. It is preferred but not necessary applicants have knowledge of building cleaning methods, procedures and equipment; the principles involved in the use of cleaning equipment and some knowledge of the repair and preventive maintenance of standard cleaning equipment. Minimum Qualifications: one year of building cleaning experience.
SUBSTITUTE BUS DRIVER
Must be twenty-one years of age, a high school graduate and have a clean driving record. It is required that applicants possess a CDL class B with Passenger, School Bus and air brake endorsements. Applicant must be physically capable for the demands of the job.

SUBSTITUTE FOOD SERVICE HELPERS ARE NEEDED
Westfield Central School is accepting applications for substitute food service helpers. Applicants must minimally be eighteen years old and a high school graduate or its equivalency and must be physically capable for the demands of the job. In addition, must have NYS Education Fingerprint Clearance.
Assist in the preparation and serving of food
Assist in the use of kitchen equipment used in the preparation of food
Assist food handling, including proper storage of food
Cleans all aspects of the kitchen, etc. (equipment, serving area, washes dishes, pots, pans, tableware, etc.)
Maintains and cleans food preparation and storage areas
Clean and sanitize tables in dining room
Performs related duties as required
