Congratulations to the Blue Mountain State team for winning the Flag Football Tournament held here at WACS this past Monday. It was a close final game with the winning touchdown happening with less than a minute on the clock. The Class of 2026 wants to thank all of the teams that participated, the many volunteers who helped with scoring, officiating and keeping everyone fed and watered, and to all of the spectators that came out to support the players and donated money. We couldn't have done it without all of you. Thank You 💙🏈

On Friday, May 31, 2024, eighth grade students attended the annual WAVE Fair to learn more about how to get their community service hours as high school students. They become freshmen on July 1, 2024, and can start to earn those hours over the summer. Each student is required to have a minimum of forty hours of community service to meet our graduation requirement. Monday June 16th will be WACS First Annual Flag Football Tournament. Games begin at 3:30 down on our football field. This is a fundraiser for the Class of 2026. Please come out and support our students as they compete for the title of Flag Football Champions. Spectators welcome and encouraged!! Thank you for your support.

👑 And the crown goes to... Marc Bowen - for being the fastest typer in the 5th grade, flawlessly typing the whole alphabet in 3.38 seconds. Keyboarding is part of our computer curriculum at all elementary grade levels. This was a fun and motivating competition for our 5th graders!

Tomorrow night is the annual All-County Music Featival at Chautauqua Institution. Below is a link for pre-sale tickets for tomorrow’s festival.  There will also be tickets available at the door.  Please note that Chautauqua Institution will be instituting their “clear bag only” policy for patrons of the concert.  Show starts at 7:30pm. The class of 2025 made it to NYC! They are looking sharp for their dinner cruise on day one of their Senior Class Trip together.

📚 Prek’s final trip of the year to the Patterson Library was filled with smiles, stories, and so much fun! Since the beginning of the school year, our group has been visiting the library each month, enjoying story time, play time, and a variety of creative, themed activities. As an added bonus, this morning's weather was nice enough for our group to walk and practice the crosswalk safety they learned during their talk with Officer Scriven earlier this spring. 🌞 A huge THANK YOU to Valerie Thomas and everyone at the Patterson Library for an incredible year of partnership, learning, and joy! We are so grateful for the warm welcome and the wonderful experiences you’ve created for our kids. 📖 💙
