Congratulations to Eva Gnadzinski for being named Dan Palmer's WDOE Student-Athlete of the day for Monday 4/7! Great job EVA!

Meet Principal Williams – Westfield’s Elementary Principal for the Day!
On Friday, we handed over the reigns to first grader, Principal Williams, who earned this prestigious role by crushing the elementary reading log goal for minutes of reading!
His day was packed with big responsibilities: building tours, important meetings, classroom drop-ins to hand out principal pawprints, and debuting on the morning announcements like a pro. But the highlight? Declaring “NO HOMEWORK” and surprising the entire first grade with free ice cream!
Way to go, Principal Williams! Your leadership (and sweet tooth) made it a day to remember! Congratulations to all of the elementary students that met their reading goals in March! 📖

Our PreK ventured out on Friday for a Community Helpers Tour. Our littlest learners explored the heart of Westfield with visits to the Westfield Police Department, Westfield Fire Department, N Matthews Enterprises and a stop at Full Strength Coffee!
From learning how local businesses work, to high-fives from our everyday heroes in uniform, our students got a firsthand look at the amazing people who help our community thrive. Thank you to all our wonderful hosts for welcoming us with smiles, stories, and plenty of excitement!
Westfield is truly the best place to learn, grow, and explore!

✏️Mrs. Stoughton & Mrs. S. Bills' students have been hard at work crafting poetry and building their reading fluency. Today, they showcased their talents in a Poetry Slam, reading their original pieces to an audience of staff members in the library!
Their poems were creative and heartfelt. Some were rhymes and some were limericks about dolphins, stinkbugs and more.
As if that wasn’t enough of a treat, each guest also received a delicious cookie—baked by the students themselves! Our students have so many talents!
👏🏼Great job to all of our young poets! Thank you to all who attended this afternoon. 💙

We had a sea of blue in support of Autism Awareness today at WACS.

Westfield CSD & 1st Amendment 1st Vote
Five of our High School students participated at the 1st Amendment 1st Vote Conference aimed to empower these young women to become informed voters and consider future involvement in elected office or government-related positions. Through workshops and discussions, our students learned about the importance of their voices, the U.S. political system, and the legacy of women in leadership.

Huge congratulations to Zach Maguire, who has signed to play basketball at Grove City College! We are so incredibly proud of you and can't wait to cheer you on at the next level!

April Fools 🤣
Breakfast: Sunny-side up eggs (yogurt and an apricot)

Delicious! Some of our students found it funnier than others! 😉

Westfield Elementary was filled with excitement today as students participated in the highly anticipated PBIS Carnival. This special event was held to recognize students for earning 400 Paw Prints within their classrooms this school year! 🐾
Our PAWS Pledge encourages students to demonstrate respect, responsibility, and kindness, earning paw prints when they make positive choices. Reaching the 400-print milestone was no small feat, and our team in the elementary school made sure to reward students with a really fun carnival experience to celebrate!
Events like the PBIS Carnival not only reward positive behavior but also reinforce the importance of making good choices and developing good habits every day. We are proud of our students for their hard work and commitment to creating a respectful and supportive school.
A huge thank you to our PBIS Committee and staff who made this event possible. Here’s to reaching even bigger milestones and more celebrations in the future! 🎪🐾

📚🚜 Celebrating Ag Literacy Week! 🚜📚
New York State Assemblyman Andrew Molitor stopped by Westfield Elementary to read The Pie That Molly Grew to our Kindergarten students and Mrs. Stoughton’s class! 📖🌱
This book, by Sue Heavenrich, is a delightful, rhythmic picture book that follows the journey of a pumpkin seed growing into a pumpkin, which is then harvested and turned into a delicious pie.
The book introduces young readers to the plant life cycle, showing how seeds sprout, vines grow, flowers bloom, and pumpkins develop. It also highlights the role of pollinators, farmers, and the process of turning fresh ingredients into food.
Mr. Molitor also shared an activity with the students and talked about the important role agriculture plays in our community. 🍇 🌾🐄
Thank you for the visit and read-aloud, Assemblyman Molitor! We’re excited to add this book to our classroom library.
Thank you to the Cornell Cooperative Extension and all of the donors that made this county wide celebratration of Agricultural Literacy Week possible. 📚💙

Congratulations to our Winter Scholar Athlete Teams and Athletes: Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Boys Bowling, and Girls Bowling, along with Alex Bourgeois, Chris Bowen, Mason Maring, and Tayvier Wells from our combined Wrestling team at Chautauqua Lake! Way to make us proud everyone!

🍀Our creative 2nd graders put their imaginations to work at our Leprechaun Trap Invention Convention!🍀 They designed and built clever traps, shared their brilliant plans, and wowed fellow students, staff, families, and other guests with their ingenuity.
From rainbows and gold to secret levers and tricky pitfalls, these young inventors thought of everything to catch a mischievous leprechaun! 🌟 Their creativity and teamwork made this event truly MAGICAL!
Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate their hard work and innovation! Who knows? Maybe one of these traps will finally catch that sneaky leprechaun next year! 🌈

Westfield Athletics would like to thank our Boys Basketball seniors for their hard work, dedication, and leadership to our Boys Basketball program: Zach Maguire, Mason Whitesell, Jackson Stellhorn, Mat Schuster, and Carson Swanson.
