Each year, the Westfield Board of Education carefully selects a recipient for their Friend to Education Award to recognize their dedication to the welfare of our school and community. This award was presented this morning during our Annual Senior Citizens' Breakfast to the Westfield Police Department for the incredible work they do every day. Our School Resource Officer, Joe Villafrank, is an important part of our school team and plays a critical role in the safety of our students and staff. Westfield Central School is grateful for our partnership with the police department and looks forward to our continued work together. Congratulations and thank you, Westfield PD!

We had a great turnout for our Annual Senior Citizens' Breakfast. Ms. Myers and her team put out a beautiful breakfast meal, our Board of Education gave out the Friend to Education Award, and our students showcased their musical talents in the auditorium for all of our guests. Thank you to Tina Winslow for her role in organizing such a wonderful morning, and to all who took the time to attend. We are always grateful for your support.

We held our spring bus drills this morning with all students in grades preK-12. Safety is a top priority at WACS, and it was a beautiful morning to get outside to practice bus safety and listen to the important bus reminders from our drivers.

It takes a team effort, in so many ways, to keep our school district in motion to serve our students. It’s our privilege to announce that the recipient of this month’s “Westfield Accolade” is being presented to our transportation department. We are so thankful to each member of this department for their endless sacrifice to ensure our students are welcomed with a smile and transported to the numerous activities our District has to offer. Please join us in congratulating each member of our transportation department!

Students in the Sports & Entertainment Management class connected with Jerry Csaki, at the Pro Football Hall of Fame, while studying Dual Sports Stars. The interactive program allowed Ms. Alonge's students to examine current and former football players who not only excelled on the gridiron – but the court, diamond, pitch, ring and track as well. Thank you to Elizabeth Huson, DL Specialist, Erie 2- BOCES, Philip J. LoGuidice Educational Center, for getting us connected!
